Cannot open my own .docx files

I have created a couple of Word 2007 files and posted them as an attachment
for school projects however when I click on the link explorer pops up and
unzips it then nothing.

Any ideas?

The web server hasn't had its MIME map updated for the new extensions.

A .docx file really is a zip file -- you can take any .docx file and
rename it with a .zip extension, and then you can unzip it and see the
xml and other files inside it.

Until the server's administrator gets around to updating the server,
download any document to your local drive (right-click it and choose
"Save Target As"), rename the .zip to .docx, and then you can open it
in Word.
