cannot open multiple pages in IE 6.0

Over the last week, it seems that i cannot open more than one IE page at one
time. If i try to open a 2nd page, it deletes the original page already
open. I've tried disabling the pop-up blocker, google toolbars, yahoo
toolbars, etc, but with no luck. I cannot seem to find any control w/in IE
Options that controls thisl.

This has only happened within the last week, during which time i have
received a notice of 2 windows updates.

any help out there?

thanks! devin

Internet Explorer 6.0 does not support the tabs feature like IE 7.0 and
Firefox 2.0. If it is your intent to open these pages in tabs, you will need
to upgrade your browser.

If, however, you are simply wanting to open these pages in separate windows
if IE 6.0, which is supported, be sure that you are selecting the option to
open the new webpage in a new window. This can be done with a right-click.

When all else fails, HijackThis v1.99.1
(http://aumha.org/downloads/hijackthis.zip) is the preferred tool to use.
It will help you to both identify and remove any hijackware/spyware. **Post

If the procedures look too complex - and there is no shame in admitting this
isn't your cup of tea - take the machine to a local, reputable and
independent (i.e., not BigBoxStoreUSA) computer repair shop.

Tools...Internet Options...Advanced tab, Browsing section - uncheck "Reuse
windows for launching shortcuts", click Apply, click Okay.

It would appear you are having trouble with IE generating new windows....

Try to update/reinstall your scripting engines from here:
http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/default.asp?url=/downloads/list/webdev.asp

If no joy, go to File Types (My Computer...Tools...Folder Options...File
Types tab)
Scroll down to the URL: Hypertext Transfer Protocol file type, click to
highlight, click Edit, click Open, click Edit (slightly different with Me -
click to highlight, click Advanced, click Open, click Edit).

Application used: "C:\PROGRA~1\INTERN~1\iexplore.exe" -nohome
Use DDE box should be checked
DDE Message: "%1",,-1,0,,,,
Application: IExplore
DDE...not running: <blank>
Topic: WWW_OpenURL

Okay out.
