I was unable to open certain documents in Microsoft PowerPoint and was told
they had been possibly classified as "Disabled Items," although when I went
to the Disabled Items folder, they were not listed there. Then I tried to
open Word, and it could not open at all (unlike PowerPoint, where PowerPoint
itself would open but the specific documents would not). Both Word and
PowerPoint can function in safe mode, but only to a limited extent, and
experimenting there had brought about no change when I returned in normal
mode. I have installed no programs or done anything else unusual lately.
The Office system is 2007 and I have had the computer since 2007. There
have been problems in the past, but not of this type.
Please help me as I need to use both Word and PowerPoint for my job as a
teacher. (I have old files saved on disk, but I need to make new ones
regularly and I don't want to have to bring my laptop into the shop for a
week.) Thank you very much for your help.
