Cannot open IE6SP1

Every time I try to open my browser IE6SP1 I get a message
saying "Microsoft Internet Explorer encountered a problem
and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience."
Then, there is a button to send a report to Microsoft,
which I have pressed innumerous times.
Well, they are sorry and so am I, because I was forced to
install Netscape 7.1 browser, since I cannot use IE6 any more.
Can anybody help me please! I have tried to uninstall it
and re-install it, I even cleaned it completely from the
Registry and re-installed Windows 98 SE, then did all the
Windows upgrades and re-installed IE6, but nothing seems to
work.
I tried to close both Firewalls, McAfee's and ZoneAlarm's,
but no luck either. Oh! Yes, I have reformatted the HD
too...twice. And spent 2 weeks re-installing and
configuring programmes. It's a busy machine!
Any help will be much appreciated. I am using a Celeron
1GHz, 384Mb Ram, and the works...
Thanks, T. Aguiar
