Hi Mike,
Can you provide us with an exact cut an paste of the error message you get?
Is it just User name and password or do other messages pop up? Slight
variations make a big difference to us.

Is your account set up correctly under Windows Mail?

These instructions were written for Outlook Express, but should
also work under Windows Mail as long as they don't call for the
HTTP protocol.

When you enter your username, have you tried using no CAPITAL
LETTERS? Have you tried it with the username both followed
and not followed by the part of your email address starting with @?
Are you sure you're using CAPITAL and lowercase letters in the
correct places in your password? Some email servers are picky
about details like these.

This problem can be caused by a non-compatible antivirus.
Which antivirus are you running?

Who's your email provider? (Yahoo, Gmail, Live, Verizon, etc.) You probably
have a checkmark on / off incorrectly in your account setup in Windows Mail.
