Cannot move Pictures or sounds on to Timeline

I cannot import pictures or sounds into Mopvie Maker and, those that are
wthere, down to Timeline, having used this great programme perfectly well
many times over the years.

On basis that programme may be corrupt, I have tried to look to see if there
is a way to uninstall/downloadthe programme but for this you have to download
Service Pack 2 but have already loaded Service Pack 3.

Any help would be appreciated

What happens when you try to do this?

When I try to import pictures etc, I get:

C:\Documents and Settings\Tony Thompson\My Documents\My
Videos\P2009-0317-215305\DCIM\101CTDVD\DCF00001.JPG could not be imported.
Unspecified error

If I try to drag pictures down to timeline - it shows it is being dragged
but just does not appear on the timeline!
