Cant play clips from the timeline/storyboard or transitions and ef

Hi! I recently downloaded Movie Maker 2 in the Windows Service Pack 2 from
Windows Update. I have been using GameCam to film games on the pc and editing
them with Movie Maker 1.1 Now that I have Movie Maker 2 I have been trying
to do the same thing. But for some reason the display on the screen is always
black. If i play a clip just from a collection it is fine. But when i start
playing the timeline or storyboard or any transition/effect the screen is
just black. I can hear the audio perfectly fine but i cant see the movie? Can
u help me?

Are the GameCam captures MPG's by chance?
If so convert them to AVI and they should then work just fine.

Whoops. Sorry this is so late. But ummmm yah the gamecam files are in .avi
file. It comes up perfectly when i click on the clip. But if i place it in
the timeline/storyboard the screen is just blank. But i can still hear the
audio.

Possibly a codec problem.
I suggest you try downloading new codec's from here:
http://www.free-codecs.com/
Maybe that will help.
