Hi all,

After I changed the domain (mycompany) to workgroup (mshome) in the computer
name tab, WinXP prompted to restart. Then I could not login with my
password. I also tried to roll back to the last good config yet could not
login.

What can I do other than reinstalling WinXP ?

Many thanks in advance!

You need to log in locally to your computer. Right now you're trying to
log into the domain. There should be a drop-down arrow next to the
login box that has an entry for your domain and also an entry for This
Computer. You want the second one.

Hi Malke,

Thank you for your advice. Before I did the change, there was a drop down
arrow to select either domain or This computer. Now that there is ONLY
username and password.

It seems though I have no way in, doesn't it?

What about Safe Mode? Can you get in locally there?
