cannot load xp home in safe mode

I recently tried to run the repair aspect of xp while my computer was in safe-mode. As a result, a message window came up which said "setup cannot run in safe mode setup will now restart". My computer has since only shown the window startup screen and then goes to setup is restarting. It will not go to any other screen as I cannot get out of safe mode. Please help me this is a circular nightmare. Please if possible, reply to (e-mail address removed) as well on the board.

Hi

I think you will have to look toward a 'Repair' install. Unfortunately this
will mean that all the Windows Updates will have to be
re-downloaded/re-installed. The following article by MVP Michael Stevens
