Cannot load user's profile

Roger

My computer, running xp pro, service pack 2, has started giving the
following error message for one of my users, everytime he logs on:

"Windows cannot load the user's profile. It has logged you on with the
default profile for the system. Detail: Incorrect Function"

A search of Microsoft's support website turned up nothing of any use. None
of my three other users report any issues.

Please advise.

The user profile is corrupt. You will need to logon as administrator and
create a new profile for that user. Then copy all his data into it per the
instructions in this article:

How to Copy User Data to a New User Profile
http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=811151

To access the default administrator account:

In WinXP Pro, hit ctrl+alt+delete twice at the logon screen and type it in.

You can also try a system restore back to when the profile worked.
