Cannot install WIn XP Home

Few days ago, Windows XP Home on my laptop started going crazy; it restarted
every few minutes, and sometimes it didn't even start. So I tried safe mode
but the same problem happend. So I somehow managed to move all of my
important work to partition D (I have 2 partitions: C -where the windows XP
is, and D), then I deleted partition C and started a clean installation.
But setup could not copy all of the files. So I putted a copy of my recovery
disc that I made in case the original recovery disc became unreadable, but
still some files could not be copied. So I used my other computer to make a
slipstreamed SP2 instalation, but the same thing happens. So what should I do?

If Windows won't boot, and you can't install it from 3 different install
sources, I'd start thinking about a hardware fault. Try diagnostic tools
like the ontrack data advisor, and the Windows memory diagnostic tool
(http://oca.microsoft.com/en/windiag.asp), to try and pinpoint any obvious
hardware issues.

It is quite possible that the cdrom drive on your laptop is the problem.
I say that because I had one go bad on me and I could not do a
clean install with a good XP SP2 slipstream CD. Changed out the
cdrom drive and the problem was solved. However, since you stated
that "Windows XP Home on my laptop started going crazy" it may
be the hard drive that is failing or possibly even the RAM.
