Cannot install software

When trying to install McAfee VirusScan Enterprise on a Windows 2000 server
we get a message from McAfee VirusScan Enterprise Installer Information
saying:

Error 1500.Another installation is in progress. You must complete that
installation before contuing this one.

However, we cannot see anything else trying to install. This even happens
after a reboot as well.

Anyone else have this problem and fixed it?

You can navigate to;
HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Installer
and delete the "InProgress" subkey to terminate all installations is in
progress.

You can navigate to
HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager\
and delete the subkey "PendingFileRenameOperations"
and any values under
HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager\FileRenameOperations

Make sure your temp folders are empty.
%windir%\temp\
%systemdrive%\Documents and Settings\%username%\Local Settings\Temp\
