cannot install program after virus attack

i have this problem with my XP Pro. After being attacked by a virus, I cannot
install any programs. Its crashes out with a exception error OXC0000005. I
have cleaned the virus/spyware with adaware, spybot and trendmicro sysclean.
But this problems remains. Any ideas of how to solve this problem wud be
appreciated.

Since we don't know what virus you had, you can't get focused answers.
It sounds like whatever you had damaged system files. Assuming your
computer really is clean, you can:

1. Run the System File Checker:
Start>Run>sfc /scannow [enter]

2. If that doesn't help, do a Repair Install:
