Cannot install network printer to Win 2000 w/s

I have had problems with one Windows 2000 SP4 work stations. It was working
fine then all of a sudden it would communicate with the printers already
installed. So i tried reinstalling the network printer.
"Printer"
"Add Printer" "next"
"Network"
Then i select "Find a printer in directory" When i click Next if displays
the following error message:
"The directory service is unavaliable"

I also tried installing a network printer by browsing via "network
Neighbourhood" and double clicking on the printer, but it gave me the
following message:
"Could not connect to printer. You either entered a name that was incorrect
or the specified printer is no longer connected to the server."

I can install this printer on any other workstation.

I cannot browse the internet either.

I have tried reinstalling the NIC and TCP/IP protocol.

Does anyone have any ideas?

Thanks
