Cannot install ANY printers

I have XP with SP2 and I am trying to install a Lexmark 2350 All In One
printer via USB. With the installation CD it begins the install then stops
with no errors, the SCANNER shows up in My Computer but the printer is not
recognized anywhere. When installing through Hardware Wizard, files begin to
be copied then stop with the message "THE SYSTEM CANNOT FIND THE FILE
SPECIFIED". No file name is given in the message. Previously this happened
with an HP printer. I HAVE NEVER HAD A PRINTER INSTALL WORK. Both HP and
LEXMARK support are clueless as to what the problem is. I have switched
cables, updated drivers, checked print spoolers, and removed old install
attempts from the registry. PLEASE HELP!

You probably connected the printer (all-in-one) to your PC prior to
installing it and that is a "No-no". Do not connect the unit to your PC until
prompted to do so, nor turn the power on till prompted.
Uninstall & reinstall Printer
