Cannot get SUA working again in Vista Ultimate

I seem to have lost all ability to execute unix commands and open a posix
shell using SUA on Vista Ultimate. It worked briefly when I first got this
computer last month but have had no luck since then. I've reinstalled the
SDK and unchecked-rechecked the SUA in Windows components several times all
with reboots inbetween but I get nothing in a cmd shell just the cmd prompt
back, no errors. I have psxss.exe running and the event viewer states that
SUA was started. What could possibly be wrong here? It seems like something
simple but I don't know what to persue here. Please help.

First, thanks for letting me know that SUA will work on Vista Ultimate
) I may give it a try myself.

I did stumble across this while trying to figure out what I can do with
SUA on Vista:

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929713

There is a link on that page which sorta implies that the download for
Vista is different from other MS OS's. Did you download your SUA-
related stuff from that link, or from elsewhere?

Thanks Don for responding

I did see that post and yes that is where I re-downloaded the SDK software.
I'm not sure now where I got it the first time but I've since re-downloaded
it from that post. I execute the command the report suggests and it just
comes back with the cmd prompt just like all other unix commands whether I
use a admin cmd or not. I am an admin on the machine and did execute the
setup.exe from the SDK software with "run as admin" but curiously it didn't
ask for a comformation as all other "run as admin" do. I'm wondering if
there is some security issue not letting the subsystem respond since I get no
errors.

Like I said it only ran briefly since I got the machine when I first enabled
and installed the software in late Feb. Now I'm getting nothing so it seems
like something simple here.

To update: I've uninstalled the SDK tools and unchecked the Windows
component for SUA and re-booted. I then only re-checked the SUA component
and re-booted again. I still cannot run the command "posix /u /c /bin/tcsh"
I get no errors just the prompt back even if I run it from a cmd with
administrator privileges. Is there a way to get a trace back from this
command? Does anyone have any idea what could be happening here? I'm
thinking some security setting but I don't know where to look. I've tried
the command without the firewall on but no luck. Please let me know if
anyone has any ideas. Thanks.
