Vista premiun to vista ultimate part 2

I am trying to upgrade premium to ultimate without success I have tried
twice, each time it rolled back to the original premium , I have been given
helpful solutions (further down the list) to get a sucessfull upgrade
Before I try the suggestions a further problem has arisen which I found when
I restarted my computer yesterday
After the last roll back to premium my computer doesn’t start properly
It runs thro normal sequence but before the Microsoft icon appears in the
middle of the screen a message briefly appears saying upgrade unsuccessful
and it goes back to the beginning of start up.
I get a black screen with two options one says “windows set-up†the other is
“Windows vista†if I am very quick I can select “windows vista†option and
the start up is normal into vista premium, if I miss it then it goes on to
the upgrade unsucsessfull message, black screen etc
I tried a system restore but it made no difference – perhaps I need to go
back further? – Is there a simple solution
Computer HP Pavillion m8180uk, 2 quad cpu @ 2.40 ghz 3GB memory

Yeah, if you have a retail version of Vista, you have a limited time free
support from MS.
