Hello,

I used Windows XP. I recently installed SP2. After this, I now receive a
message saying that "the system has recovered from a serious error." If I
click on X to close it, the message reappears in about a minute or so.

I have already read Article ID : 317277
Last Review : May 10, 2004
Revision : 1.0

and downloaded the patch. However, because the patch was from SP1 (2002),
when I installed the patch, it told me that the SP that I had was newer than
the patch, and did not install.

What to do?

Thanks!

Right click on My Computer and choose Properties. Click on the Advanced tab
then Error Reporting. Click on Disable error reporting and uncheck But notify
me when a critical error occurs.

You might have a computer virus. Make sure that your virus scan is up to
date and then run a thorough manual scan.
