Cannot get into safe mode

Ocassionaly, I get "blue screen" and the PC restarts automatically.
I am trying to get into safe mode, but Windows tells me there is a
configuration issue and refuses to get to this mode. I can get into Regular
mode.
Any ideas how to resolve this?
 
from the start menu select run. Type msconfig. From the boot.ini tab you can
select the safeboot checkbox. That will get you into a safemode. You probably
have a driver that causing the problems.
