Cannot find WorkGroup Information File & so cant open any Access d

I have tried to open an old Access 2003 database that had its own security
file in Access 2007. I had to run a macro to run the workgroup administrator
to point to the old mdw file. After trying to convert this database to Access
2007 unsuccessfully I have removed the database. The problem now is that when
I open access it says it cannot find the Database Engine WorkGroup
Information File. If I put the mdw file back in the path that was set with
the old access database it still doesnt work. Is there some way I can
redirect access back to the system.mdw file without having to open a database
and run a macro?

You didn't need to use the workgroup administrator to point to the old mdw
file. You could/should have used a desktop shortcut:
"path to 2007 msaccess.exe" "path to mdb" /wrkgrp "path to mdw"

Try this:
Do a search on your computer for all *.mdw files (include system and hidden
folders in the search). Rename every one that you find. Open 2007 and try
to open a mdb - does this work?

2007 accdb format doesn't use security; are you able to create a new accdb
without problem?
