After getting rid of the Search Assistent mess I can no longer access any web
sites with IE 6 (using Windows XP SP1). My dial-up works fine as do Outlook
Express, Netscape Navigator, and Norton's Update - everything but IE.
When I click on "Detect Network Settings" the message said "No Connection to the
Internet is Currently Available".
I disabled the Third Party Browser Extensions, ran the Windows File Protection
(sfc /scannow) and ran the LSPfix.exe. It said keep mswsock.dll, winrnr.dll,
lsp.dll, and rsvp.dll - nothing was to be deleted. Pressed finish and it was
done without doing anything.
Anyone have any ideas how to fix this problem? I'm not an expert but I'm
guessing that one or two registry tweaks will probably solve it.
Thank you and Happy Birthday America.
