Running XP Home on a Dell 4550. Lots of RAM, lots of disk space, etc.

I have many photos in a folder which is designated as PICTURES (BEST FOR
MANY FILES), but it does the same thing on any setting. I highlight a photo
and from the left column I select 'EMAIL THIS FILE'. I select 'MAKE SMALLER'
and click OK. The email program never opens. It does not matter which
program I select as the default in INTERNET OPTION. I tried Outlook, Outlook
Express and Incredimail. Same result. It just shuts off after pressing OK. I
tried leaving the photo large, different size photos, etc but the same
result.

It is working properly if I try to attach the photo from the email
application, but not from the photo folder.

Your help is much appreciated.

Rich,

Try the following command from RUN dialog:

regsvr32 sendmail
regsvr32 shimgvw

Restart Windows. If that does not help, open Registry Editor (regedit.exe) and navigate to:
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Clients\Mail]

Backup and delete this registry key (does not exist by default)

If nothing helps, let us know which file-type is causing the problem.
