Cannot Create Partition

F

Fred

Hello good fellows....

I'm having a problem with one of my Ibm servers running Windows 2k AS SP3.
I've installed new hard drives and expanded the array (Raid 5) in IBM server
raid Manager. But in Disk Management when I try to create a new Partition
for the unallocated space, for some reason, the option is greyed out.

Currently the Server has Basic Disks with 4 partitions. C,E,F, and G. The
file system is NTFS and im pulling my hair out..... Has anyone seen this
before?

Thanks in advance.

In windows like in dos you can only create four primary
partitions or 3 primary and one extended partition with
more volumes.
So delete a partition primary ;-)and then recreate as
estended. Or you need to use drive image or gosth for
expand one of your partition withoout delete your data
bye

you'll probably need a tool like PM for this. can't tell what type of
partitions you have but i'm afraid you have used all 4 slots for partitions
in the mbr

partition magic is form www.powerquest.com ... ah server, then you pay more
and have to use volume manager instead.
