Cannot copy pictures to CD

Hi, I hope someone can help me. I am trying to copy
pictures to a CD. I have followed the instructions
putting the files into the Files Ready area and using the
wizard to take me through the process. At the end, I get
a message saying the copy has been completed. However,
the CD is blank. Then, when I ran the wizard again
trying with the same (allegedly blank) disk, I received
an error message saying that the disk may be unusable.
I've tried with three CDs and I have the same problem
each time. Does anyone know what I'm doing wrong? Many

You are using the XP built in CD utility and I really don't mean to be
facetious. There are many commercial and shareware programs which are easy to
use and work properly. IMHO, Nero is best but it is about US$70. Didn't your
CD-RW come with S/W? Google for CD burning software and you'll have your pick
of more than you'll ever be able to try out. Most have trial or demo versions.

Try going to "My Computer" and right clicking on the CD Drive. Then select
"Properties" and the "recording" tab. Down the bottom it says something like
"select the write speed". The box below will probably say "fastest". It
might be worth setting this to be a bit slower than the specification for
your media. eg if your media says 24x try setting the speed to 12x or even
8x. It will take slightly longer to write the data to the drive but it will
reduces the chances of errors occuring.

I don't rate the free CD writing S/W very highly. If you can afford it get a
copy of Ahead's "Nero Burning ROM" or Roxio's "EasyCD". They are both quite
easy to use.
