Cannot copy files over network

I have introduced a win2000 workstation into my win98 peer network. The
win2000 pc can see all win98's and all win98's can see win2000. I can
transfer files from any win98 with file sharing to the win2000 pc, but I
cannot transfer a file from the win2000 to a win98 pc. I get an error message
"Cannot create or replace (file name) dx: Network access is denied. Be sure
you have the correct network permissions to preform this operation."

How do I change the network permissions on the win2000 machine to allow the
coppying of file from win2000 pc to win98machine?

Seeing that it is the Win98 PC that rejects your attempt to copy
files to its shared folders, this is probably a Win98 issue rather
than a Win2000 issue and should be posted in a Win98 newsgroup.
You may want to examine the permissions that you selected when
creating the shares on the Win98 PCs.

I note from your post that for some strange reason you did not
seem to have run a test that involves copying files from one Win98
PC to another Win98 PC. I thought that this would be the most
important test.
