Cannot connect two computers Using Direct cable

R

Rich

I am trying to connect two laptops together using a
direct parallel cable. I cannot however start the
Routing and Remote Access service which it would appear
in needs to connect the two computers. Does anyone know
why I cannot start this service or how to fix it so that
I can start this service. The service log provides no
additional useful information.

You need to create a new network connection:
Open Network Connections
Click Create a New Connection
Setup Advanced Connection
Connect Directly to Another Computer
Choose host or guest
Direct Parallel (LPT1) in Select a device.

I tried this, but that is when I keep getting the error
about not being able to start the Routing and Remote
access service.
