cannot connect to virus protection software vendor sites

When I type the following URLs, they fail:
http://www.symantec.com/
http://www.mcafee.com/
http://www.symantec.com/nav/nav_9xnt/

All other URLs that I visit work perfectly.
Do I have a "parasite" or spyware? I ran lavasoft
already...

It is possible you may have parasites on your system causing the
problem. Download, install, update and run the programs below. They are free
and very effective. Be sure to run both SpyBot and Adaware, as what one does
not detect the other may. Follow the directions carefully.
