cannot close IE

I cannot close the IE window. Otherwise, other functions
seem OK.
Please help!

The first thing to do is to scan your system for the possibility of
unknown\unwanted spyware or parasites that may be causing your problem(s).

I seem to often have the same issue. Frequently can't

Quit IE6 application so I end up just minimizing and then
opening up a new application of IE6. Often will just try
to Exit using Task Manager. Pretty frustrating. I often
get the box that says IE has encountered a problem and
needs to shut down, etc. I've tried to uninstall and
reinstall (and I think successfully) but doesn't seem to
help. I've wondered if the problem is more of a Windows
Explorer issue but other applications don't seem to have
this problem.

Pete,
This is a frequent problem users have that is usually caused by a 3rd party.
Many times these parasites (adware\spyware) configure themselves to
prevent the user from closing the browser, or the 3rd party app is so poorly
written, it breaks many of the browser functions ......
