Cannot Change Computer Name

I'm not sure if it was a patch\fix, etc.. But I have a few computers
that show this error.

When I go to the computer name tab in system properties, the following
boxes are grayed out:
Network ID and Change (to change name or domain)

Then below that it states:

Note: The identification of the computer cannot be changed because
networking is not installed or is not properly configured.

However, the domain logon scripts continue to work, full network
access and internet access.

Any Ideas..?

I have also updated the drivers to the latest.

Do the users have admin rights to the workstations, or are they limited?

We are using the interactive user in the administrators group, but
this particular workstation I'm logged in as local admin..

Does disconnecting from the network and re-logging in as a local admin
allow the change? What about logging in as a Domain Admin? Compared
the network settings of a workstation that doesn't have this issue?
You've probably tried all this...
