Dear all,
We have this problem in one of Windows XP pro in our work place. For the
company policy, we have to change all XP computer name and rejoin to another
domain. However we have problem changing this PC name.
The PC is running on wireless network, login as local admin, go to
"computer name" tag of computer property, found that the "network id" and
"change" button is gray off. There was a remark below the tag " The
indentification of the computer cannot be changed becauasue: - network is
not installed or properly configured."
We tried to remove the account from domain, restart the PC however it is
still the same. the PC is able to ping whole network and able to access
application (SQL).
We need to be able to change the PC name, join it to domain. Wish you
can advise us.
thanks a lot
