Cannot browse Workgroup or map network drive.

When trying to map drive, XP Pro cannot find folders on other PCs that have
been shared from either my wireless or wired network adapters, also when
trying to view workgroup computers, I get "Workgroup is not accessible. You
may not have permision....." from all computers.

All PCs can ping themselves via name, IP, and loopback, and all PCs can ping
eachother by IP. Gateway IP responds from each PC. I use fixed IP addresses
on all 3 PCs, and have no problem connecting to the internet with my
wireless\wired router as a gateway. I have elected to turn off DHCP on the
router. All PCs have unique names and are on the same subnet. I can remotly
connect to any PC from any other PC using Remote Control using IP.

Sub question: My laptop has two network adapters: wired and wireless. On
laptop in question, I have assigned elected for each adapter to append (or
assign, not sure) "DNS Suffix for this connection:" to ETHERNET and WIRELESS.

Is if this is a good way to solve the problem if i prefer static IP Addresses?

If so, how can I list these connections in my LMHOST or HOSTS files, are the
FQDNs now ETHERNET.pcname.workgroup.MSHOME.NET mapped to 192.168.0.X and
WIRELESS.pcname.workgroup.MSHOME.NET mapped to 192.168.0.Y in the HOSTS file?
and ETHERNET.pcname in the LMHOST file?

As you have already summized I am one of those w/just enough knowledge to
get me into trouble, so anyone kind enough to reply is requested to please
avoid "tech speak" when possible.

it could be the permission issue. have you created the same username ad password on remote computer? or try to disable guest account. Can you access it now? this page may help,
