cannot boot up

every time i attempt to boot up, it stops as it
states, "verifying dmi pool data." and then it freezes.
i've tried pressing f8, inserting the rescue disk, etc
but to no avail. all feedback will be appreciated.

If you cannot boot from a floppy or a CD, with no error
message, just a hang, you have a hardware problem
somewhere, usually either CPU, motherboard, or RAM.

Your best bet if you're not comfortable troubleshooting
hardware is to have it looked at by a computer hardware
shop.
