cannot access secure websites

just downloaded java so that I could play a game online.
Now, I can't access any secure websites, like my bank. I
uninstalled java and restore my web browser settings to
default, but still no luck. Help!!!!!

Hi Brad.

The link below is a pretty good KB article on things to try. I had this happen to me
on one of my computers and I tried EVERYTHING and could not fix the problem and ended
up doing an upgrade installation while running XP to fix it. --- Steve

You also may want to try using a System Restore point if you have one prior to when

do you have a firewall? if so the firewall may be

blocking your access to secure sites. try tweaking the
system wide settings.
