Cannot Access Previously Shared Folders

I just replaced my hard drive with a new drive. I copied
all files and directories partition to partition and have
encountered the following problem. I have three other
workstations that access shares on my computer and now
they cannot access them. An error message is displayed
stating that they probably do not have access rights and
to contact the system administrator. The shares remain
visible, yet are not accessible.

I stopped the shares and then re-established them yet the
other workstations still are unable to access them. I
even deleted the shares and re-established with the same
result.

Any thoughts as to how I can re-do these shares so that
the other workstations can reclaim their access rights?

Thanks!

If the main computer has XP Professional with simple file sharing
disabled, you might need to reset the file permissions, as shown here:

Otherwise, this Microsoft Knowledge Base article might help:

Same problem on my XP. Found that going into My network
places, view network connections, uncheck the file sharing
box and reboot. Open network places, view network
connections, enable file sharing, close open windows and
re-share your files again. The above might be properties
section also of the Network places. Good luck.

Thanks!
Enabling Simple File Share and resetting permissions as
described in the attached article did the trick!

Thanks for all the contributions as the entire
experience, albeit frustrating, taught me a lot!
