Cannot access payment areas and 'login' areas on Websites

David Maxwell

My notebook PC has recently decided to restrict me from
logging into secure areas, paying for purchases on ebay
and amazon. I receive 'The Page Cannot be displayed' page.

I have a suspicion the change was induced whilst
installing the latest Windows undates.
No settings have been changed. Internet Options Security
and Advanced settings are set to default. Adjusting
to 'Low' (security) made no difference.

I am sure I am missing something simple. I would be very
grateful for guidance.

Regards,

David

Another thing you can try is:
Go to start/run
Type in: regsvr32 softpub.dll

Hi Kaylene,

Thank you very much for your kind advice. It was indeed obvious. I worked
through the possible sources of the error within your email and found it was
Norton Firewall. My ego is a bit bruised as this occurs so often when
networking with *unknown* computers.

I learnt a wee bit in working my way through the hyperlinks although I do
think that the run "regsvr32 softpub.dll" sounds like magic... pity it didn't
work!

Much appreciated, my bank balance will again be pounded into submission in
those secure areas.

Regards, David
P.S. "Kaylene aka Taurarian" ....Wow, what a great sounding name!
