cannot access certain links

G

Gary Kittle

Sometimes, when I click a link on a search page, I get an audible warning
along with the icon's change to a little RED circle with a white hand on it.
Nothing else happens so I assume that it's telling me that for some reason,
I am unable to access that particular link. I have Windows firewall turned
OFF and am using the firewall that comes with Norton Antivirus software. I
try to disable/log off of Norton Antivirus but I still get the same response
when I try to click on certain links.

What can I do to be able to access these links in my web browser?

Thank you in advance for all help,
The Gare

Does your software include a warning when a web page contains possibly
malicious code?

No, all I get is the little red circle and white hand. There are no written
warnings or notices of any kind.

I just tried to type in a link in my browser and it worked. I pointed the
mouse to the link and wrote down the link that appeared in the bottom left
of my browser. When I clicked the link, the little icon came up again and I
was unable to follow the link, but when I typed in the link by hand, it
worked with no problem.

This same problem kept me from downloading software that I had bought
online. I had to get a refund because I was unable to download it.

Maybe this is a question I should be asking the Norton Antivirus people?

it was my stupid pop-up blocker preventing me from going to certain links.

Sorry about the wasted time ane space in the NG.

As I suspected...

And don't feel bad. I've wasted much more of the newsgroup's time.
