Can you zoom out from an image in PowerPoint.

I want to use a fixed start point and pull back as a reveal. Also, is it
possible to pan across the image? Thanks for any help

I'm using PowerPoint 2000. I guess the answer is, 'No'?
If that's the case, is there a 3rd party software package that I can use for
zooming and panning images? Thanks again, for sharing your knowledge.
