Pan/Zoom on jpg slide show

I'm looking for a presentation SW that will allow me to create a jpg
slideshow with preset pan and zoom on the images. Each slide should do
it's thing, but not advance to the next slide until manually advanced
(Need a controlled presentation, not a 'movie' of the slides
playing).

The ability to embed an mpeg clip into a slide would be a plus. I do
have PowerPoint 2003 but can't figure out how to get it to pan and
zoom on a jpg slide. Does it have that capability?

You can do this in PowerPoint, but getting there would probably be more
trouble than it's worth, and the end product would not be as smooth as some
other programs. I use a program called ProShow Producer for these kinds of
shows. It's about $250. If you don't mind the cost and learning curve, it
will give you a much better result. One of the drawbacks is that you can't
hand off an editable version to another user afterwards (unless they too have
the program).
