Can you set handout page numbering to start at a # other than 1?

I am using PPT 2000.

I have a set of 10 PPT presentations that run consecutively during a
seminar. As the handouts for all 10 presentations will be bound in a single
book given to registrants, we'd like to number the handouts for all 10 shows
consecutively.

Is there a way to start the page numbering on the handouts at a number other
than 1?

Thanks,
Christina

Christina,

I think you can do this...

Open your 2nd presentation

File menu > page setup > choose "number slides from" > change the number
from 1 to the number you want to start your 2nd set of slides.

Repeat for all your presentations.

TAJ,

This doesn't work. It changes the slide number, but has no effect on the
page number at the bottom of the handout.

The page number on handouts in PowerPoint can not be changed, it will always
start on 1, even if the slide numbers do not.

You may want to look into sending the slides to Word where this sort of page
numbering thing is easy.
File => Send => To Word (native to PowerPoint)
or use my add-in
(SlideIntoWord -http://billdilworth.mvps.org/SlideIntoWord.htm )

You can also remove the page number from each of the handout printouts, then
use a second pass thru the printer to number all the pages (yes, I've done
this, but didn't like it)
