Can you recommend a forum that knows about PowerPoint?

I posted before with a problem I have in PowerPoint, but in this forum nobody
seems to know the answer to my problem. Would any of you know another forum
where I can post the same question and maybe I find somebody that knows about
this things?
Just for reference, my question was:normally would open as a presentation. After I reinstalled Office 2000, all
my .PPS open in Normal View. Then I press F5 and I can see the presentation
show. This used to happen before only if the file was a ppt. I tried to save
these files as PPS [they even have that extension] but never the less, they
open as Normal View. I know is not much of an effort to press F5... but I
want to fix this annoying problem. << Then I added some information was
missing in the question: My operating system is Vista Home Premium.
I really appreciate if you can refer me to some other forum.

Hi Dan,

Try the following:
1. Open Command Prompt.
2. Go to "C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office" folder.
3. Type "PowerPnt.exe /regserver" and hit Enter.

This should make PowerPoint associate its extensions back to what they were.

I think you'll find this is pretty much the most knowledgable place!

If you right click on a pps icon what commands are there (first three/four
should be enough) and which is in bold type??

Hi Chirag:
I followed your instructions and I did that command.
I didn't understand exactly how this was going to help, but I did it anyway.
The pps extensions were associated to PowerPoint and now they are like
before, associated to PowerPoint. The files with extension pps, still open in
PowerPoint, and like before, I must click on F5 to see the presentation.
Thanks anyway for trying.

Hi Steve:
There were two choices similar to Maintenance Install. Repair Office and
Reinstall.
Repair Office did not do the trick.
Later today I am going to reinstall it and post the results.
Thanks
Dan

This and the fact that "Show" doesn't appear on the menu for PPS files makes me
think that the file associations are munged.

If you insert your Office 2000 CD and let it autorun (or manually run SETUP.EXE) one
of the options you get will be a "Maintenance Install" or something to that effect.
Choose that and let it run to completion.

Hi John and all the others!
Problem solved!
I just reinstalled Office and now right clicking the pps files, instead of
"Open" as a
first choice, now is "Show". What a difference this makes! Now it shows
the presentation as you click in the files.
Thanks to all of you for your help!
Dan
