Can you help me fix this?

I open Internet Options and ask Internet Explorer to Prompt me to remember
passwords but it refuses to do so. So, for everywebsite I use that requires
a user name and password I have to try and remember the user name and
password I used when visiting that site. I try not to duplicate them in case
there's a security breach on one which means it's extremely difficult for me
to use sites requiring user names and passwords now. Why isn't IE doing what
I tell it to do and how can I get it to prompt me to remember passwords
again. I'm using XP Pro Edition. Thanks.

Did you use Tools > Internet Options > Content > Autocomplete?

You probably have to click Clear Passwords so that the next time you visit a
site, you will be prompted to tell IE to remember the password you entered.
If you already told it not to, then that site is on the list of sites you
don't want remembered. So clear all the passwords and start over. That
*should* work.

I don't know how to fix your problem with Autocomplete,
Prompt for password but I would highly recommend a third
party tool called Roboform http://www.roboform.com
(freeware available)

I think from memory also that there is a DHTML command to
use Autocomplete which would mean that you would have to
wait until a web site implements it before IE will save
your login details to a site.
