Can you edit or clean your profile?

Win Xp machine sp2... it takes a long time to "load your personal settings"
4-6 minutes before I can use the machine. It used to take about 1 minute,
so was wondering if you can view, edit etc what is in my personal settings.
Would I have to extablish a new profile and can the old one. TIA

I scan quite often for viruses, worms, etc (5-7 days complete scan), I have
no programs in the startup menu, misconfiguration?? but still looking for
answer 'can you edit your profile'??

Hi,

Don't know if you can edit your profile (would like to know as well), but
there is another thing that you can do besides following the general
guidelines given by experts for a cleaner and faster computer:

Try to search Microsoft site for "User Profile Hive Cleanup" and it's a
small utility as the name explains itself.

I too had the similar problem (not really a "problem" though) on slow
startup and shutdown process, and I am sure I have done a not-so-bad job on
maintaining my systems. In any case, after I installed the small utility -
both the startup and shutdown process are much "faster".

Take a look a 'Autoruns' from Sysinternals, it has an option to show what
loads for each user and you can select what you don't want to run on a per
user basis. Its not exactly what your looking for but.....
