can you copy auto-complete list?

Guys,

I am getting a new pc next week. I know how to transfer e-mail, contacts
and address books. Here is my dilemma. First I want to import and export
rules. This is done through a wizard and although I have never done it I
think this will go pretty smooth.

What I really want to transfer is the auto-complete list. I have a ton of
contacts that auto-complete that I have e-mail addresses for but they are
buried ten steps inside of a database. I would love it if I could somehow
transfer the list. I know it contains up to 500 addresses before it starts
to overwrite. I do not want to copy the profile because I am going from Win
2K/ Office XP to Win XP /Office 2003. Can someone please help.

The quick and dirty method is to save your autocompletion cache
(<ProfileName>.NK2 file). Then after you have Outlook installed on the new
PC and have enabled autocompletion, replace the new (empty) cache with your
old one by deleting the new cache and renaming the old cache to match the
new one and placing it in the same directory. Do NOT try to overwrite these
files.

The better method for anyone who really values and wants to maintain their
cache is to use a third party utility called Owtlook:
