Can you change a meeting to an appointment w/o re-creating the ite

Greetings!

Can you change a meeting to an appointment w/o re-creating the item?

My company allows us to download calendar items from a website in iCalendar
format, which enters the event in our calendar as a meeting with no
attendees. Then, whenever I go to change the subject Outlook "barks". Is
there a way to convert the meeting to an appointment?

Um, no attendees makes it an appointment already. Adding attendees by using
the Scheduling tab and then sending it turns it into a meeting, even to the
point of changing the form used when reopening it. I suspect, then, that
removing attendees from a meeting turns it back into an appointment, although
my experiment indicates that the form doesn't change back to an appintment
form. The To field simply remains empty.
