Can these .dat files be deleted ?

I did a search for the above file extension to find something and came up
with over 600 entries. No surprise there; what was surprising was that
roughly half were websites to almost any category wanted apparently put
there by the program Zero Knowledge. I had to disable it because of
problems it was causing.

Can I safely delete these apparent webpage links, or is it best to leave
alone as they ARE dat files ? I am trying to clean this computer regularly
using suggestions for other buuild-ups I read about on here.

You should only run Disk Cleanup, Defrag, and a registry cleaner if you have
one. Leave the .dat files be.
