I have got some movie files off a friend.

But i couldn't play them in usual windows media or ne other player.
I had to download real player one. which is fine. but now every time i
download a mp3 file realplayer takes over from windows.

How can i stop this from happening??

Cheers Thanks in advance

Hi,

Go into RealOne Player's options, undo the line that makes it the default
mp3 player. Go into WMP's options and enable it to take over as the default.
You might also check Program Access and Defaults in the Control Panel/Add &
Remove.

When real Player installed you were probably given the option over which
files it "took over" - so be more careful what you do next time you install
a player! Meanwhile to fix it...

Start Windows Media Player and select Tools -> Options -> File types tab.
Then put a tick next to MP3 in the file types box and click OK.

For future reference, Real Player is almost a computer
hijacker when you do a default install, it takes over
everything. Best to do a custom install and only allow the
items and file associations you want.
