Wireless connections sometimes go to your neighbor's wireless server instead
of yours. If this happens, and your neighbor uses some other internet
provider
from the one you use, the connection has to cross over from one internet
provider's equipment to another. If you are using port 25, such crossover
connections are often blocked to cause problems for spammers, and you need
to ask ntlworld.com if their outgoing mail server allows you to use any
other
port instead, and if so, where to find their instructions for switching over
to the
other port. Just trying all the ports is a very slow way to find out, since
there
are about 65,000 ports available and it's unlikely that more than a few of
them
will accept outgoing mail.

See if this helps:

Their reference to ntlworld.com is a bit hard to spot, but keep trying.

Your Internet connection appears to be coming from a service
other than NTL. NTL is not allowing port 25 SMTP service from
a 'foreign' connection. The only workarounds are:

1. Use webmail for sending when away from home.
2. Ask NTL if they have a port other than '25' for SMTP.
3. Use the SMTP server belonging to your work location,
assuming you have authority to do so.
4. Get a free Gmail account, configure it for POP access, and
use it for your sending chores. Gmail uses port 465 for SMTP,
which is not blocked like port 25 is.
