can ping an address but dns doesn't work at all

I have a machine with a strange problem, which is not an
ISP problem as other machine works fine with same isp.

My Internet connection is established (adsl) but browser
cannot find any site. Ping to the address of same site
works, but not browsing. Any clues?

Did you type full url like http://www.microsoft.com or just
www.microsoft.com? If web sites work with http prefix, that can be fixed.
