Can only start in safe mode

Desperate Joan

Sorry this does not apply - I always get the error
message "Microsoft Outlook has encountered a problem and
needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience." And
then I only have the option to "tell Microsoft about this
problem" which I have done hundreds of times, and re-start
in safe mode. Would appreciate help again! Thanks

Morning Joan,

Make sure when you start Outlook that it does not have any
commands behind it.

To start Outlook in safe mode it is path/Outlook.exe /safe

Make sure when you start Outlook it is reading only
Outlook.exe

For some weeks now, outlook 2002 could only be started in
safe mode. Have uploaded all updates for Win XP and Office
Pro, un-installed and re-installed, still getting the same
problem. Thanks for any help!

Create a new outlook profile. Remove all Add ins- ( or
start outlook in safe mode as suggested.) If this works,
test and readd the addins one at a time to see what the
culprit is.

I've tried this - no add-ins had been removed by safe
mode! Have copied the systems info below (with today's
date - I get this every day):

Event Application Failure
Application outlook.exe
Version 10.0.4510.0
Module mso.dll
Module Version 10.0.4219.0
Offset 000097e1
Date 28/01/2004 5:07:17 PM

Would so appreciate further help - nothing seems to repair
the damaged outlook programme. Un-installing and re-
installing didn't solve it either. Thank you so much!

Joan
