Can only open links once saved. Outlook 2003

Hi guys,

I have had a user call escalated to me with a request that is quite odd.
Here are the notes from the tech that took the initial call:

User called and advised that when dragging a folder into an Email message
(Outlook 2003) to create a link to a folder, the link is then displayed in
the email, however when attempting to open a message is displayed "warning
file may contain a virus or may be harmful to your computer". The file must
then be saved locally first before it can be opened.

User requested this be investigated (advised not a major issue, just an
annoyance). He is aware that he can enter the UNC pathname however shortcut
of course being easier.

I changed his security settings to "Internet Zone" and tried but that didn't
work. I asked him if he only has the 'save' option in Internet Explorer when
trying to access files and he said he gets the 'save' and 'open' options in
IE.

This one has me stumped. Also, it doesn't matter if the email is HTML or
Rich Text, it does the same thing.

Don't use lnk-files for shortcuts but use text hyperlinks instead. To easily
do this choose Insert-> Hyperlink or hold the right button while dragging
and dropping the file or folder from Explorer into an Outlook message and
choose Create Hyperlink Here.

Set the security zone settings back to Restricted Sites. It has nothing to
do with this issue and creates a security risk.

Looks like the solution that you offered is the best way. I spoke to the user
and he said that he will enter the UNC patn or just create a hyperlink.
